Lindsay Walsh
Certified Dog Behavior Consultant with IAABC
Certified Pet Trainer-Knowledge Assessed through the CCPDT
Certified Fear Free ® Trainer
Lindsay, is the only professionally certified dog behavior consultant through the renowned International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) in our area. She is also a certified professional pet dog trainer through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a Biological and Evolutionary emphasis from Penn State University and a teaching certificate from King's College.
Her training and behavior career began with dolphins and sea lions in 2004 as an Animal Care and Training Intern for the U.S, Navy Marine Mammal Program in San Diego, CA. From there she went on to work as a service dog trainer at Train Rite, a small service dog organization with a rewards-based training program.
Upon her return to PA, Lindsay was unable to find any pet businesses in the area using the modern and humane training methods she learned in her previous training positions. Unwilling to use older training methods that relied on force, pain, fear and intimidation to change behavior, Lindsay used her prior knowledge and experiences to open her own pet training business, Courteous Canines.
She is beyond proud of her experience and continued education in the behavior and training field and is genuinely passionate about teaching people how to communicate with animals in a way that agrees with their head and hearts.
